District officials have initiated a search for a replacement, hoping to find a permanent principal to take over the duties in the Middle School for next school year.  It that proves impossible they will fill the position with an interim principal as they have in the Elementary School.

The letter, issued from Superintendent Mark Lewi's office says, "A two-phase interview process will be conducted during July.  During the second phase, finalists fot the position will be invited back to Lansing to meet with various constituent groups."  Lewis says he hopes the Board of Education will be able to appoint a successful candidate in its July 25th meeting.

Lewis also says that the district will conduct fact-finding sessions with parents, students, staff and community members to determine what attributes the best candidate should have.  Applications for the position must be submitted before June 30.
