crownconst JFredricksonJeff FredricksonCrown Construction has increased its workforce by nearly 25 percent to meet increasing demand for home improvement projects across the Central New York region.

The residential remodeling company, based in Dryden, has added six employees in  carpentry, roofing and sales in the past month, bringing its total workforce to 31, said Jeff Fredrickson, president and co-founder of Crown.

"This is the best start spring-wise that we've had in about 10 years," said Fredrickson, who lives in Cortland. "The weather was so cold this winter, people didn't think about remodeling. But once the weather broke, there was a tremendous amount of activity in a short period of time."

Crown received an honorable mention as the 'Best of the Best' contractor from the Cortland County Chamber of Commerce on June 19. The firm, which offers employees matching 401(k) retirement savings plans, has also been ranked as one of the top 50 remodeling companies in the country by Remodeling Magazine.
