mooretree120Moore Tree Farm is celebrating their 25 anniversary by donating 25 Real Christmas Trees to the nationwide Trees for Troops program, sponsored by Christmas Tree Farmers of New York, the Christmas SPIRIT Foundation and FedEx. . In addition, Moore Tree Farm will transport trees from other southern tier farms to the Fed Ex pick up point in Jordan, NY where Fed Ex will then deliver the trees to the many families at Fort Drum.

Last holiday season, more than 19,300 trees were delivered to more 70 military bases. This brought the total to more than 100,000 Christmas trees delivered since the beginning of the program in 2005.

On the Trees for Troops website and Facebook page, hundreds of military families leave heartfelt thank yous and pictures of their families celebrating around their beautifully decorated Christmas Tree. This is a message that was sent in from the Pendleton Family, “Thank you for our beautiful Christmas tree! We weren’t sure what we were going to do this year ...Trees for Troops was an answer to our prayers!”

“Trees for Troops is a great program and is a win-win-win situation for everyone involved,” says Christmas SPIRIT Foundation Chair Nigel Manley, a Christmas Tree grower in Bethlehem, N.H. “Christmas Tree growers love doing something for a cause, the military is appreciative of what they receive and FedEx makes it so easy for everyone involved.”

Moore Tree Farm is located 10 miles north of Ithaca on Rt. 34. In addition to live and cut trees they have tree stands, wreaths, kissing balls and a gift shop.
