The unofficial results are in.  Lansing Republicans want U.S. Senator John McCain as their candidate in the general election for President of the United States next November.  McCain won with 354 votes, followed by 213 for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.  Foremer Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee came in third with 74 votes, followed by Ron Paul with 54.  731 Lansing Republicans voted in the 'Super Tuesday' primary election.

On the Democrats side 1,254 voted with 613 preferring Senator Barack Obama.  598 voted for New york Senator Hillary Clinton, 23 for John Edwards, and 14 for Dennis Kucinich.

McCain has 48% of Lansing votes, with Romney following with 29%.  In national polling McCain has 43% to Romney's 24.5% .  Hillary Clinton leads nationally with 45% of voters, to Obama's 42%.  In Lansing Obama has 49% to Clinton's 48%.  Nationally and in Lansing that amounts to a dead heat.
