WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Michael A. Arcuri (D-Utica) announced today that his office will hold a lottery for tickets to the Inauguration Ceremonies of Barack Obama as the nation’s 44th president on January 20th, 2009.

“It is an honor to serve in the House of Representatives at this historic moment in our nation’s history and I look forward to sharing this monumental day with my constituents,” Arcuri said.

Although the Congressman wishes everyone who wanted to come to the Inauguration could get tickets, security and space constraints mean there are a very limited number of spots. In order to fairly distribute tickets to interested constituents, Arcuri will hold a lottery drawing on December 3rd, 2008 in his Utica office.

Individuals interested in participating in the ticket lottery must contact Arcuri’s office before December 2nd. To enter the lottery, constituents should call Arcuri’s Washington, D.C. office at 202-225-3665. Selected individuals will be notified by December 12th.

Arcuri’s office has received hundreds of requests for Inauguration tickets, many even before President-elect Obama’s election in November.
