ImageRichard Hanna for Congress announced today that the campaign has raised more than $350,000 in less than eight weeks. The overwhelming majority of individual donors, 91 percent, are residents of the 24th Congressional District.

“Even though we have a long way to go, I am humbled and grateful for the enormous support our campaign has received throughout the district,” Hanna said.

Hanna announced his candidacy Jan. 20 – losing nearly a month of the first fundraising quarter. The first quarter runs from Jan. 1 to March 31.

NRCC Spokesman Tory Mazzola said: “Considering Richard Hanna entered this race nearly a month after the first fundraising quarter began, this is truly remarkable and further demonstrates why he is one of the most impressive candidates across the country.”

The complete filing is due to the Federal Election Commission by April 15. Specific figures for the campaign will be available after that day.

Sixty percent of all individual donations to Hanna for Congress were $100 or less.

“It’s becoming increasingly clear that people are ready to vote for someone who is not a career politician,” Hanna said. “It’s gratifying to see there is excitement and support for someone who is connected to their concerns and brings real life experience.”
