mailmanI totally agree with Dan Veaner's assessment of just how convoluted the whole budget / tax situation has become and of how the politicians have used it to promote their own agendas.

I must now ask how we can go about getting a group of officials (note I did not say politicians) that are comprised of normal citizens who can see what has happened before and endeavor to avoid continuance of same.

I am astounded, on a daily basis, by the worthless projects that politicians have come up with to waste our hard earned money. Recently heard about the presidential coins that no one wants, that are being minted on a daily basis (over 600,000 per day) that must be put into storage in a facility that we are building to store them. This type of thing goes on and on and still no one stops and questions the need for projects that use tax monies. WHEN WILL IT ALL STOP???

Perhaps we need a taxpayer strike to drive our point home. Yes, NY is an expensive place to live but so much of the wasteful spending impacts all Americans in every state.

What are we going to do about it?

Start looking for sensible people who are willing to take a stand and say no to more spending.
