Girls SoccerThe Dryden Lions hosted the Lansing Bobcats Monday in an exciting rival game.  Early in the first half, Lansing Lady Cats had a shot and Dryden’s goalie, Sarah Westcott, stopped the ball.  Unfortunately, she hit the frame and was subbed out for an evaluation.  She returned later in the first half.  The remainder of the first half was back and forth.  Both teams played a great defensive game.

The second half was much of the same, both teams giving it their all.  The later part of the 2nd half, Taylor Bennett took a free kick right outside the box.  The Lady Cat’s goalie, Lena Gisler, had a great save.  The game ended in a 0-0 tie, which led to overtime with two additional 10 minute halves.

During overtime, both teams never let up.  Lansing defense was able to hold off Dryden.  Unfortunately, the Ladycats were unable to score, which brings their stats to 7 wins, 1 tie and 0 losses.  In all Lansing had 5 fouls to Dryden’s 16.  Lansing had 6 saves and Dryden 10.  There was one yellow card for Dryden at the end of the second half.

Lansing will play Dryden again Monday October 12th at 7:30 at TC3.
