xcountryOn a wet, windy, and cold day, runners gathered at William Appleby Elementary School for the 28th Annual Marathon Cross Country Invitational.  With ten races taking place, runners navigated a well-marked but increasingly muddy course lined with spectators undeterred by the weather.

Senior David Leff of West Genesee won the varsity seeded boys race followed by junior Majd Rouhana of Fairport.  Rouhana led his team the to the team victory over runner-up Watkins Glen.  Also of West Genesee is freshman Mia Mitchell who won the varsity seeded girls race and led her team to the overall victory.

For Lansing, eighth-grader Teddy Brenner led the modified boys team with his fifteenth place finish in the small school race.  Junior Liam Hulsebosch led the varsity boys, earning top 50 honors individually in the unseeded varsity boys race.  Juniors Mikaela Garcia and Leigh Miller placed in the top 50 runners in the girls seeded varsity race, leading their team to third place in the small school division.
