In preparation for the 16U Tier 2 State Tournament March 9-11 in Clinton, the Ithaca 16U Shooting Stars played the Mohawk Valley Herricanes 19Us to a 4-2 win, and then faced the visiting Tier 1 16U Princeton Tiger Lillies falling 3-0 and 4-2. Shots on goal were fairly even in all three games so Ithaca goalies Sarah Eisenhut and Annabelle Jones each needed to make about 25 saves during the weekend.

Against Mohawk Valley, Janesa Cornish had two goals and Lauren Cole and Alex Colbert each scored one. Erin Grainger assisted on two, and Robin Worsell and Leigh Trumpfeller helped on one. In the 4-2 loss to Princeton, Whitney Colbert scored both, one assisted by Emma Marshall.

The 19Us also faced the Mohawk Valley 19Us falling 4-0. Karen Uber stopped 32 shots on goal. They spent Sunday in a mini tournament in Geneva featuring 15 minute running clock games. Ithaca and Geneva Generals 19U ended in a 0-0 deadlock. Their second tilt was against the Ithaca Sirens women's team which also ended in a tie, 1-1. Diane Ralyea scored the lone 19U goal. Their third game was against Monroe County 19Us and also ended 1-1 with Samantha Craig scoring.

This record put them in a semi-final rematch with the Sirens. Uber stopped all the shots by the local women and Chelsea Meyer found the net scoring the one goal needed to advance to the championship game vs. Geneva. They again played to a 0-0 tie but the Ithaca 19Us won since Meyer scored in the sudden death shootout while Uber stopped the shot she faced.
