mall 120The Shops at Ithaca Mall and Cornell Cooperative Extension will host an Energy & Waste Reduction Expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, with approximately 10 businesses and agencies who'll provide visitors with information about how they can reduce their utility bill and carbon footprint in their homes, businesses, and farms.
 
The list of vendors includes NYSERDA, who is also a sponsor for the event, as well as Halco, Historic Ithaca, Restore (Southern Steuben Habitat for Humanity), Taitem Engineering, Tompkins Solid Waste, and ZeroDraft.
 
"Our goal is to hold an event where guests can meet with experts in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and composting, walk away with information from multiple sources, and make educated choices toward reducing their carbon footprint," said Rafael Larramendi, Marketing Director for The Shops at Ithaca Mall.  "To this end, we are happy to partner with Guillermo Metz in hosting the event-"

Metz is the Green Building and Renewable Energy Program Coordinator of Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) in Tompkins County- "since CCE is at the forefront of educating the public in these areas, as well as fostering collaborative efforts to have a real and measurable impact."
