She holds a Master's Degree in Communication from Cornell University and a dual Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Political Science from Binghamton University. As one of the Council's newest team members, Berry will provide thought leadership, strategic insight, development, marketing, events and programs designed to engage the community and other key stakeholders in honor of the Council's 50th Year Anniversary (in 2017).

"We are delighted and honored to have Michelle join our team as we focus on bringing increased energy, engagement, attention and focus to the needs and dreams of our communities, clients, businesses, partners, and supporters. Her extensive track record in compassionate community engagement, combined with her work in shaping legislation and policy for the City of Ithaca as a former Alderperson and Alternate Acting Mayor, coupled with her success in creating regional and national award-winning marketing and communication campaigns, make her an ideal candidate for this position," said  Dale-Hall.

"We were also impressed that Michelle was recognized by Oprah Winfrey's "O-Magazine" magazine for her work in raising funds for children with parents in the military, as well as her business acumen as an entrepreneur in speaking, training and coaching for two decades related to stress and burnout reduction," Dale-Hall concluded.

"The Board is focused on bringing increased visibility and attention to the work of the Child Development Council by engaging the staff and Board, community collaborators and partners in short and long-term development and marketing strategies. Therefore, we are very pleased to have Michelle join us as we celebrate and promote the 50th Year Anniversary of our organization's vision and mission," said Cindy Noble, President of the Board of Directors of the Child Development Council.
