HerbDwyerHerbert Dwyer, President of Ithaca-based ASI Energy, will wrap up the second stop on the New York Statewide Winter Energy Tour on December 4, 2014 at Binghamton University. This 10-city event presents Governor Cuomo's energy vision and engages communities in NY Prize -- a first-in-the-nation $40 million competition to enlist communities to advance plans for local power infrastructure designed to promote clean energy, reliability, resiliency, and affordability. Dwyer is one of five energy-leaders speaking during the half-day event. Other speakers include John Rhodes, President and CEO of NYSERDA as well as Micah Kotch, Director of NY Prize.

Dwyer oversees all aspects of ASI Energy, including strategic planning, business development and client relations. ASI Energy is a turnkey solutions provider of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) energy generation solutions. They also offer the most reliable, efficient and affordable energy solutions to a variety of industries that compliment CHP. ASI Energy is the developer and project manager of the Energize Ithaca district energy project. Dwyer is also a board member of the Northeast Clean Heat and Power Initiative.

"This is an amazing opportunity for ASI Energy and one more way in which the New York State energy leaders show their commitment to the ongoing improvements being made 'across the grid.'" said Dwyer. "I am looking forward to hearing more from my peers on the options and opportunities NYSERDA and others bring forward."

NY Prize is part of New York's comprehensive effort to build a cleaner, more resilient, and affordable infrastructure. These coordinated and complementary activities include efforts to Reform New York's Energy Vision (REV), NY Green Bank, the Clean Energy Fund (CEF) and The NY-Sun Initiative. This trailblazing approach is designed to rapidly integrate clean energy -- promoting more efficient use of energy, deeper penetration of renewable energy resources such as wind and solar, and wider deployment of "distributed" energy resources, such as microgrids like Energize Ithaca, on-site power supplies, and storage.

ASI Energy is an Ithaca, New York-based company that provides energy consulting, lighting retrofitting, and Combined Heat and Power (CHP) services for light to medium-manufacturing and commercial and industrial buildings throughout the northeast.
