Tartuffe (Brendan Hammond) is a scam artist, a kind of seventeenth century version of the worst stereotype of a televangalist.  He has fooled Orgon (Max Mackenzie) into signing over his home, his wealth, and his daughter Marianne (Chelsea Weidman Fanders), who is in love with Valere (Ben Veaner).  But the family's servant Dorine (Jess Uhrovcik) in on to him, and in fact on to all of them.  And that's no mean feat!

Orgon's Mother M. Pernelle (Mairi Cardone) is also taken in, but not so his other daughter Damis (Kate Schuttenberg), who is openly hostile to the faker.  His brother Cleante (Susan Lin) also sees Tartuffe for what he is, but takes a moderate approach to dealing with him.  Orgon is finally convinced when his wife Elmire (Alyssa Wasenko) stages a sting with Orgon hiding behind a pillar to witness Tartuffe's perfidy.  She proves Tartuffe's lecherous intentions toward her and his actual disregard for Orgon.

But the damage is done and Tartuffe sends Mr. Loyal (Everett Brown) with an eviction notice.  Tartuffe also alerts the King of France that Orgon has been holding the papers of a friend who also happens to be fleeing the King's justice.  But far from having the effect he wishes, the King sees through Tartuffe's scam and sends an officer (Robin Hicks) to arrest him, while at the same time restoring Orgon's wealth and home.
