ImageOn 07/21/10 at 11:43 PM deputies responded to the intersection of Peruville Road and N. Triphammer Road in Lansing for a reported two-car motor vehicle collision.  As a result of the investigation, Edward C. Collins, age 68, of 674 Warren Road, Ithaca, was charged with felony-level Driving While Intoxicated.  The felony charge stemmed from a prior conviction in 2002.

The investigation into the accident determined that Collins' vehicle made a turn at the intersection from Peruville Rd. onto N. Triphammer Rd., striking another vehicle that was stopped at the intersection on N. Triphammer Rd.  There were no injuries as a result.

Collins was scheduled to appear in Lansing Town Court on 07/29/10 at 7:00 PM.

On 07/21/10, at 12:50 AM, deputies charged David C. Tubman, age 22, of 1292 Elmira Road, Newfield, with Driving While Intoxicated.  The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop on NYS Route 13 in the Village of Lansing for an vehicle equipment violation.

Tubman was scheduled to appear in the Town of Lansing Court on 07/29/10 at 7:00 PM.

During the course of the recent Grassroots Festival Tompkins County Sheriff's Deputies ticketed and towed 31 illegally parked cars. Deputies assisted State Troopers with the removal of 4 people from the off-site camping area on Agard Road and handled a couple of minor property damage MVA's.

In addition Deputy Sheriffs arrested Brien P. Montgomery, age 33, on 07/24/10, at 9:57 AM, in the parking lot of the Byrne Dairy store on East Main Street in Trumansburg. Montgomery was arrested for disorderly conduct as deputies observed him being  beligerent and harrasing customers. Montgomery was arraigned in Town of Ulysses Court and sentenced to ten days in the Tompkins County Jail.

Depuities handled several other small events and assited Trumansburg Police with a fight at the Byrne Dairy store and dealt with some intoxicated individuals who were laying along the side of Agard Road.
