Incumbents Julia Ann Kilgore Baker and John F. O'Neill won their seats in a contested election in the Village of Lansing Tuesday.  Baker and O'Neill (Village of Lansing Community Party) were challenged by Yasamin Miller and Brian Goodell (Voice of the People Party).

The election attracted nearly 37% of the 1560 village registered voters.   Voters were asked to vote for two candidates.  Baker won with 31.826% of those who voted, followed by O'Neill, who won with 31.478%.  Miller garnered 18.783% of the votes and Goodell 15.913%.

All four candidates participated in a 'Candidates Forum' at the Ramada Inn last Sunday.  They answered questions posed by each side and moderator Dan Veaner.  Most of the questions revolved around development in the northeast portion of the Village.  Miller and Goodell, both residents of that area, have been outspoken against the proposed Lansing Reserve development that would be located north of Dart Drive.  They challenged the current Board of Trustees' handling of the development process, and were critical of the board's transparency.  Incumbents defended the board's record and transparency and challenged their opponents' assertions.

The unofficial results (write-ins not yet counted) show Julia Ann Kilgore Baker won with 183 votes; John F. O'Neill won with 181; Yasamin Miller received 108; Brian Goodell 103.
