mailmanMany Lansing residents are on fixed incomes, find themselves unemployed or have not realized any income increase in the past two or more years. These facts do not seem to impact Tompkins County Board budget decisions.

Where is the extra money supposed to come from?

Federal Government is not granting a cost of living increase for seniors (not quite sure why they think the cost of living has not increased - mine sure has).

There are few permanent jobs available in this area and there are so many applicants for each position that is advertised, chances of employment for Seniors and experienced personnel is limited (Either too old or over qualified).

In addition to this problem is also the problem of obtaining cost effective Medicare Advantage plans. Some of the better ones are not available in "Tompkins County".

I know that over the years the cost of living and doing business in New York has been detrimental to many residents and industries. Never thought that the county one resided in or did business in would become an issue.
