Lansing's Varsity Girls Swimming Team was number 1 in the IAC Championship meet last Saturday with the top score of 320 points.  Dryden took second place, followed by Watkins Glen, Southern Cayuga, Waverly, Odessa and TAE.  Lansing Divers took second place behind Dryden, with Waverly in third.  Lansing's Kristin Carlson finished in second place, with Danyelle Barron in fifth.

Wednesday Lansing hosted the Class "C" Girls Sectional preliminaries.  Kendal Dean, Leigh Conley, Claire Eckstrom and Rachel Bland took second place after Dryden in the 200 Yard Medley Relay.  In the second event Nikki Dean completed the Girls 200 Yard Freestyle in 1:59.33 to take first place.  Erin Obrien took third place for Lansing with Kendal Dean finishing seventh.

Hannah Wingate sped to third place in the 200 Yard IM, finishing in 2:29.00.  Kali Dean completed the 50 Yard Freestyle in 25.05, taking first place and qualifying for State.  Lansing took second and third places in the 100 Yard Butterfly when Nikki Dean finished in 1:01.21 and Claire Eckstrom in 1:06.54.  Kali Dean took another first, completing the 100 Yard Freestyle in 54.92 and again qualifying for State.  Erin Obrien finished fourth.

Hannah Wingate then took second place in the Girls 500 Yard Freestyle, and second place in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay along with Erin Obrien, Nikki Dean and Kali Dean.  Claire Eckstrom, Lexi Payton, and Kendal Dean took fourth, fifth and eighth place in the 100 Yard Backstroke.

Leigh Conley finished sixth in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, with Hannah Wingate, Nikki Dean, Erin Obrien and Kali Dean completing the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay in third.
