ImageDunkin’ Donuts, America’s all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, will celebrate the grand opening of its first restaurant in Lansing, NY, at 32 Peruville Road. The highly anticipated restaurant will offer customers hot and iced coffee, espresso drinks, breakfast sandwiches and baked goods to fuel the local community.

National Hockey League veteran and current ESPN commentator and hockey analyst Barry Melrose will welcome Dunkin’ Donuts to Lansing during the grand opening event on Saturday, June 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Melrose will be available for photographs and autographs with Dunkin’ Donuts customers throughout the day. Visitors will also have the opportunity to win a number of giveaways and prizes, courtesy of Dunkin’ Donuts.

“We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Melrose and the residents of Lansing to our new store. Dunkin’ Donuts is proud to serve the hard-working people of Lansing with the opening of our new restaurant,” said Tom Santurri, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee.  “Our goal is to provide the ultimate quick meal experience and change people’s expectations about what is possible at a quick service restaurant. We like to call it ’quick quality’, which promises fresh food fast at an affordable price.”

Melrose, who is a resident of Glens Falls, NY, has spent the majority of the last 14 years as a commentator and hockey analyst with ESPN and appears regularly on SportsCenter and ESPNEWS. Prior to joining ESPN, Melrose was the head coach of the Los Angeles Kings from 1992-95. In his debut season, the team advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time in franchise history.

During his 11 years as a player, Melrose played 335 career games as a defenseman in the National Hockey League with Winnipeg, Toronto and Detroit. Melrose began his coaching career in 1987, when he led the Medicine Hat Tigers to the Western Hockey League’s Memorial Cup Title. He also coached the Seattle Thunderbirds for the 1988-89 season and the Adirondack Red Wings of the American Hockey League for three seasons, during which he guided the team to the Calder Cup championship in 1991.

Employing 15 crew members and shop managers, the new restaurant, located inside a 4,000 square foot Xtra Mart convenience store, will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and will offer travelers convenience and ease with drive-thru service in addition to accommodating seating indoors.

The Lansing store will be managed by the CNY Foodservice Group LLC, an independently owned and operated franchise network of the Dunkin’ Brands system and a division of the Wolak Group. The store franchisees are Roy Clark, Tom Santurri and Ed Wolak.
