October 23, 2006 (ITHACA, NY) - Next weekend, families will have a chance to go to the theatre for a heaping helping of Fudge! On Saturday, November 4th, the Hangar Theatre will be presenting two public performances of the 2006-2007 School Tour production, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing, based on the book by Judy Blume, in the Kulp Auditorium at Ithaca High School. At 10:00 am and again at 2:00 pm, the Kulp will host the tragicomic saga of Peter Hatcher, older brother of a three-year-old terror named Fudge.

Because he's the oldest, Peter must deal with his little brother Fudgie's disgusting cuteness, his constant meddling with Peter's stuff, and other grave offenses, one of which is almost too much to bear. Passed on from babysitters to their young charges, from big sisters to little brothers, and from parents to children, Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing and its cousins (Superfudge, Fudge-a-Mania, and Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great) have entertained children since they first appeared in the early 1970s.

Designed to augment New York State curriculum requirements, the Hangar Theatre’s school tour program features professional cast and crews creating theatrical experiences that tackle core areas of study and important social issues. This year’s production of Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing continues a successful tradition of bringing theatre into schools throughout the Northeast. Through November 11th, the fall leg of the 2006-2007 School Tour will take the Hangar crew all over Upstate New York.

Tickets for the public performances of Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing will be available at the door. The Hangar Theatre School Tour is made possible by Principal School Tour Sponsor, Borg-Warner/Morse TEC. Performances will be held at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 4th in the Kulp Auditorium at Ithaca High School.
