She  worked in the Watkins Glen school system for seven years, teaching elementary school reading, and becoming an administrator in 2005.  She served as Interim Middle School Principal, and then became Administrator of Professional Development and Curriculum.

In 2007 she was named Principal of Lansing's Raymond C. Buckley Elementary School.  She served in that position until 2012 when she was named Interim Superintendent in the wake of Superintendent Stephen Grimm's resignation.  The Board Of Education removed 'interim' from her position in 2013, unanimously voting to give her the job at the April 8th board meeting.  She has two children in the Lansing school system, and her family recently bought a home in Lansing.
