track2Last Friday the Lansing track team competed in the Legends of the Night Invitational at Odessa. The team had three boys with standout performances. Senior Ben Rourke won the high jump, was 2nd in the shot put, 2nd in the pole vault, and 2nd in the long jump. Senior Dylan Bland won the pole vault with a state qualifying mark of 13' 6" and was 3rd in the 100m. Senior Anders Presthus won the discus and won the shot put with a new meet record and state qualifying mark of 49'5". These three boys scored all 70 of the team's points, which led them to an overall 2nd place finish among 17 competing teams.

On Saturday night, Lansing pole vaulters Max Jordan, Dylan Bland, Ben Rourke, Hayley Wigsten, and Emily Gallagher where invited to compete in the Saturday Night Showdown meet in Hilton, NY. The meet featured top vaulters in NYS and took place on a raised runway in front of the stands.

For the boys, Dylan Bland was unable to compete b/c of leg cramping, but Senior Ben Rourke ended up placing 6th with a 12' 6" clearance. Junior Max Jordan ended up winning the event with a first attempt make at 14' 0".

For the girls, Junior Hayley Wigsten took 5th place with her opening first attempt make at 9' 6" and Freshman Emily Gallagher was 9th place with a 8'9" jump.
