track_benrourkehurdles_120Lansing Girls and Boys Track and Field Teams competed for three days last week at the Interscholastic Athletic Conference held at Dryden High School.  ​The boys team was the large school runner up, finishing second to Trumansburg.

​Ben Rourke won three events:  the 110 hurdles (16.31 seconds), the High Jump ( 5 ft 10 in), and the Pentathlon.  Ben set a new Lansing school record in the pentathlon with 3165 points, breaking the old record previously held by coach Rusty Landon.  Also competing in the pentathlon was Austin Kandea, who finished 2nd with 2703 points.  The pentathlon includes the 110 hurdles, the high jump, the long jump, the shot put, and the 1500 meter run.

Anders Presthus is IAC champion in the shot put and the discuss, with throws of 48 ft 2 in and 136 ft 2 in., ft respectively.

Dylan Bland and Max Jordan placed one - two in the pole vault, with vaults of 14 feet and 13 ft 6 inches respectively. 

For the girls, Haylee Wigsten finished second with a pole vault of 10 feet.

The next meet is the Section 4 Class C championships in Greene on Thursday May 22.
