ImageThe Lansing Boys Track team competed at the Bob Scarry Relay Invitational this past Saturday at Moravia. The boys team ended up 3rd in overall points, but had many impressive results and records.  They competed again at Groton Monday against Marathon and Groton. Lansing won against Marathon 96-45 and against Groton 117-24.

Andy Lockwood set a new school record in the shot put with a distance of 54' 4". Rusty Landon also set a new school record in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.63 seconds. 

In Moravia Lansing scored on top with a total score of 71.  18 schools competed in the meet with Lansing's Anna Mapes taking first in the Sprint Medleyand the 800 Relay.  On the boys side, Lansing scored 3rd overall with Andy Lockwood and Matt Hartz scoring first in discus.  Lockwood had the best individual throw at 146' 3".  Jeremy Petak and Patrick Sweazey took first in the Pole Vault finishing with 24' 7".  Lansing boys took first in the 1600 Relay and Shot Put as well with Lockwood and Sweazey throwing 96' 4 1/2" and Lockwood scoring the best individual throw at 52' 3".

Overall, everyone did a great job, and we're looking forward to competing at the Ithaca Relays this Friday.

March 28 Bob Scarry Relay Invitational at Moravia

1st place finishers:

*Pole Vaulters Jeremy Petak and Colin Patrican teamed up to break the relay meet and school relay record with a combined height of 24' 7". Jeremy Petak also set a new Moravia Facility record and Lansing School Record with his individual performance of 13' 1".

*Andy Lockwood and Jeff Swayze teamed up to break the shot put relay record for both the meet and Lansing School with a combined distance of 96' 4 1/2". Lockwoods individual performance of 53' 2" was also a Moravia facility record.

*The boys 1600 meter relay team of Devin Strehle, Colin Patrican, Henry Potter and Rusty Landon won the event in a time of 3:35.3 which is a Moravia facility and relay meet record.

*Andy Lockwood and Matt Hartz won the Discus relay with a combined distance of 249' 6".

2nd place finishers:

*The boys shuttle hurdle relay team of Devin Strehle, Ken Tillapaugh, Henry Potter, and Rusty Landon took second overall, but broke the Lansing School Record with a time of 1:10.0 behind Weedsport who ran 1:09.6 in another heat.

*Ken Tillapaugh and Henry Potter took second in the long jump relay with a combined distance of 36' 5". Tillapaugh's individual jump of 20' 1 and 1/2" was just shy of the Moravia facility record.

*The boys sprint medley team of Devin Strehle, Ken Tillapaugh, Colin Patrican, and Rusty Landon finished second in a time of 3:52.2.

*The boys freshman sprint medley team of Jared LaCelle, Colden Knapp, Luke Davis, and Eddy Potter finished second with a time of 4:19.1.

*The boys thrower's 1600 meter relay team of Sean Eastman, Matt Hartz, Dan Pine, and Andy Lockwood finished second with a time of 4:24.
