Seven members of the Lansing Girls Track team competed in Philadelphia, PA Thursday at the Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania. Seniors Natalie Usack, and Tiffany Lind, along with junior Christine Fuchs and sophomore Anna Mapes competed in the 4x400mR. Tiffany held her ground in a waterfall start of 14 girls in only six lanes. Christine, Natalie and Anna all ran fantastic legs as well. They all went out hard and finished with a lot of heart and determination!

In the end they posted a time of 4:18.86. Anna Mapes joined Senior Preeti Panda, along with freshman Chloe Ryan and Emily Eisenhut in the 4x100mR. Racing in a strong heat, Chloe went out hard with a great start. Anna, after being tripped by an opponent, got up and finished her leg showing extreme sportsmanship.

Preeti and Emily each did a fantastic job in making up the lost ground and had fantastic handoffs. Their time of 56.5 doesn’t accurately represent how good of a race they ran. In an extremely intimidating environment, and despite poor weather, these Bobcats ran amazingly well, and represented Lansing with honor.

Lansing Girl’s had 4 first place finishes and took 1st place overall.
