Ithaca, NY  - The current temporary exhibit at the Museum of the Earth, "Art/Soul/Africa: A Photographer's Journey" will now be extended through October 29th.  Public programming for the exhibit will also continue through the fall season.

The popular exhibit, featuring the photography of Sheryl Sinkow, has been attracting visitors to the Museum of the Earth since its opening in May. Sinkow's work is the result of an inspirational trip to Africa she took last winter with Musicians for World Harmony (MWH), an organization that aims to promote peace, understanding and harmony though the power of music, with an emphasis on the displaced and/or distressed.

The exhibit depicts the cultural and natural history of Africa, the continent where the first traces of human life appear, and aims to engage children as well as adults.

Supplemental weekly public programs for the exhibit currently include African Art Mondays and Musical Wednesdays with Samite, both of which provide opportunities for children and adults to immerse themselves in the art and soul of African culture.  Programs and tours are available through the fall.
