Throughout the season, tournament play was always an exciting finals match between a tough T-burg team and Lansing, but the lady cats battled to the top in the two tournaments they attended held at Tioga and Candor.

IAC’s brought together T-burg, Lansing, Candor and Tioga. Pool play decided the T-burg Lansing match up for the Title. During the prelims, T-burg beat the Lansing team 2-0, but in finals, the Lansing girls tightened up their game, executed their game plan and colleted the IAC Title. But the riralry was not finished. The Lady cats knew that T-burg would be gunning for them come Sectionals. Once again, the number one seed, T-burg recorded a 2-0 win during the prelim pool play against the Cats and the stage was set for a finals match on Saturday between the two schools.

The Lady Cats found it to be gut check time once again. Finals began with solid performances from outside hitters RandiLyn Randall and Katie Fenner, who capitalized on the setting power of Veronica Glennon. When Veronica was not setting the outsides, she looked to Rachel Strohman and Marlene van Es for middle attacks. The powerful offense of the cats was more than T-burg could handle. Defensively, the back row of Lansing, led by senior Alyssa Fessenden (Libero), proved to be the answer to T-burgs offense. The Cats dominated from the first serve and never looked back. In a best of five match Lansing handed T-burg a 25-16, 25-16 & 25-14 loss.

The Cats now begin their preparation for State Quarter finals on Saturday, November 11th, 2006. It is their first trip to the Quarter finals since 2001. Good Luck CATS!!
